The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is part of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the signal generated by this switch and assigns a digital message to it. The DDSA then sends this message over a power door serial data circuit to the driver door module (DDM).
The DDM must be powered and must not have DTCs B1327-Battery Low Voltage or B1328-Battery High Voltage set for this DTC to set.
If the driver door module (DDM) receives the message that a DDSA window switch is closed for more than 15 continuous seconds the DDM sets this DTC.
• | If the UP switch is closed for more than 15 seconds, both UP and DOWN movement is prohibited from the DDSA. |
• | If the DOWN switch is closed for more than 15 seconds, DOWN movement is prohibited while UP movement is permitted from the DDSA. |
• | If an express switch DTC is set, express function is disabled but regular window functions are not affected. |
• | All widows will operate normally from the passenger door window switch associated with the failed DDSA window switch. |
The DDM clears this current DTC when the switch signal is no longer received. The DTC is stored as a history DTC. The history DTC will clear either after 50 OFF/ON cycles of the ignition switch without a repeated failure, or in response to a scan tool command.
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
Check the module input state using the normal input status.
Check to see that the input is seen by the module.
