Removal Procedure

    Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  1. Lower the window all the way down.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the window inner belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  4. Remove the window outer belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Run the window to the fully closed position.
  6. Tape the window in the closed position.
  7. Peel down the upper portion of the water deflector, to gain access to the window clamp fasteners. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

  9. Loosen the window regulator to window clamp fasteners four revolutions.
  10. Lower the window regulator to the full open position.
  11. Remove the window by lifting up, flexing forward, and then out.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 428679  Size: SH
  1. Install the window down into the door assembly making sure the front of the window is in the front run channel and the rear is outboard of the division post.
  2. Grasp the window at the top.
  3. Shift the window forward to snap the rear of the window into the division post.
  4. Locate the window into the two window regulator to window clamps.
  5. Install the window outer belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Install the window inner belt molding. Refer to Rear Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Start the vehicle to ensure maximum power to the window motor. This is required to fully seat the window for adjustment.

  8. Raise the window to the fully closed position.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 11 N·m (98 lb in).

  10. Install water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  11. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
