Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (4) from the secondary air injection (AIR) shut-off valve.
- Loosen and lower the pinch clamp (1) on the AIR pump outlet hose.
- Remove the 2 bolts (3) that attach the AIR shut-off valve outlet pipe to the AIR manifold.
- Remove the mounting bolt that secures the shut-off valve to the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bracket (2).
- Remove the AIR shut-off valve and the AIR shut-off valve outlet pipe as an assembly (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the bolt securing secondary air injection (AIR) shut-off valve and AIR shut-off valve outlet pipe assembly onto the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bracket (2).
- Install the 2 bolts (3) that attach the AIR shut-off valve outlet pipe to the AIR manifold.
- Connect the AIR pump outlet pipe (1) to the AIR shut-off valve.
- Move the pinch clamp back into position.
- Connect the vacuum hose (4) to the shut-off valve.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
