  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Connect pins 3 and 4 of DLC connector to enter diagnostics.
  3. Check and record the codes.
  4. Exit diagnostics.
  5. Clear error codes. Refer to Clearing DTCs
  6. Enter Diagnostics.

Are any error codes present?

If codes were previously set, refer to the appropriate diagnosis chart and Intermittents and Poor Connections

Is there a single code set?

Refer to the appropriate error code diagnosis chart.

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the control module.
  2. Check the resistance from drive to ground on each strut.
  3. • LF strut - pin D13 to pin D10
    • RF strut - pin C13 to pin D8
    • LR strut - pin D14 to pin D11
    • RR strut - pin C14 to pin D9
    • Resistance values should be between 20ohms and 60ohms

Does the resistance value on each strut match the resistance values of the other struts?

Check the connector and strut cavity of the unmatching strut for the following:

    • connector alignment
    • moisture
    • dirt

Are strut cavities and connectors free from moisture and dirt and connected properly?

Go to Step 5

  1. Clean and dry the connector and strut cavity.
  2. Reconnect the connector to the strut.

Are strut cavities and connectors free from moisture and dirt and connected properly?
