Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
- Support the transmission with a jackstand.
- Remove the bolts attaching the steering gear assembly to the frame. Refer to Steering Gear in Suspension
- Remove the nuts from the frame to mount.
- Remove the bolts from the mount to transmission.
- Remove the mount. Use a long screwdriver or prybar. Pry up on the steering gear assembly while working the mount out from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the mount into position.
- Install the bolts at the mount to transmission.
- Install the nuts at the frame to mount.
- Tighten the mount to transmission bolts to 52 N·m (38 lb ft).
- Tighten the frame to mount nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Tighten the frame to body bolts to 112 N·m (83 lb ft).
- Remove the jackstand.
- Install the five bolts attaching the steering gear assembly to the frame. Refer to Steering Gear in Suspension.
- Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
