Liftgate Latch Replacement Aztek

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621901  Size: SH
  1. Open the endgate.
  2. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the liftgate latches.

  4. Object Number: 621876  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts from the liftgate latches.

  6. Object Number: 621877  Size: SH
  7. Remove the liftgate latches from the endgate.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Make sure the child safety lock feature is not engaged before installing the liftgate latches.

  1. Install the liftgate latches to the endgate.

  2. Object Number: 621876  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the liftgate latches.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate latch bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connectors to the liftgate latches.
  6. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Close the endgate.
