Power Seat System Components

The power seat system consists of the following components:

    • Driver seat adjuster switch
    • Passenger seat adjuster switch
    • Driver seat adjuster motor assembly
    • Passenger seat adjuster motor assembly

Power Seat Operation

Battery positive voltage and ground is supplied to the power seat switch for seat adjuster motor operation. The seat adjuster motor assemblies are controlled by the power seat switch through two control circuits for each seat adjuster motor. The seat adjuster switches are closed to ground when inactive. When an adjuster switch is pressed from an inactive position to an active position the switch contacts apply ground to one control circuit and battery positive voltage to the other. The direction the adjuster motor rotates is determined by the polarity of the control circuits. Upon the end of travel each motor has a internal circuit breaker that will open and remain that way until battery positive voltage is removed from the active control circuit(s).
