  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch through all the switch positions.

Do the windshield wipers operate properly in all modes?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Do the windshield wipers operate properly in HI mode?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch to LO.
  3. Measure the voltage from the windshield wiper switch low/pulse signal circuit to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

  1. Measure the voltage from the windshield wiper switch low/pulse signal circuit to a good ground.
  2. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch through the entire DELAY range.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value in each DELAY position?

B+

Measure the voltage from the windshield wiper switch on signal circuit to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch to HI.
  3. Measure the voltage from the windshield wiper motor high speed circuit to a good ground.
