Liftgate Hinge Replacement Aztek

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 743284  Size: SH
  3. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges with a grease pencil.
  4. Remove the nuts from the lifgtate hinges.
  5. Important: Mark the location of the shims right and/or left for reinstallation.

  6. Remove the liftgate hinges with the shims and seals from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 743284  Size: SH
  1. Position the liftgate hinges with the shims and seals to the location marks on vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts to the lifgtate hinges.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the liftgate hinge nuts to 33 N·m (28 lb ft).

  5. Install the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Replacement .

  2. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges with a grease pencil.
  3. Remove the nuts from the lifgtate hinges.
  4. Important: Mark the location of the shims right and/or left for reinstallation.

  5. Remove the liftgate hinges with the shims and seals from the vehicle.
