8-Digit GM Part Number: The scan tool displays the GM eight digit part number of the instrument
panel cluster (IPC).
Air Bag Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the air bag lamp as
commanded by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the SDM.
Ambient Temperature: The scan tool displays 0-100 °C. The measured temperature
from the ambient outside air temperature sensor to the IPC.
Antilock Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the antilock lamp as
commanded by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM.
Brake Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the brake lamp as commanded
by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the BCM.
DIC Mode Button: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the DIC mode button
detected by the IPC from the DIC switch (low input).
DIC Reset Button: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the DIC reset button
detected by the IPC from the DIC switch (low input).
Engine Oil Level: The scan tool displays OK/Low. The PCM monitors the signal circuit
of the engine oil level switch, where an open switch is displayed as Low (low
engine oil level).
Engine Oil Life: The scan tool displays 0-100%. The PCM calculates the remaining
engine oil life.
Engine Oil Pressure: The scan tool displays OK/Low. The PCM monitors the signal circuit
of the engine oil pressure switch, where an open switch is displayed as OK.
Fuel Level: The scan tool displays 0-100%. The PCM calculates the amount
of fuel remaining in the tank based on the input from the fuel level sensor.
High Beam Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the high beam lamp
as commanded by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the BCM.
Ignition 0 (Data): The scan tool displays 0-25.5 volts. The voltage measured
from the ignition 0 positive voltage circuit at the IPC.
Ignition 0 (Input): The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the ignition 0 positive
voltage circuit detected by the IPC when the ignition is turned
ON.
Key In Ignition: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. When the key is in the
ignition switch, the scan tool will display Active.
Left Turn Signal: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of left turn signal input
detected by the IPC from the turn hazard flasher (high input). The indicator
turns on when the switch is closed.
Low Brake Fluid: The scan tool displays OK/Low. The state of the low brake fluid
input detected by the IPC from the brake fluid switch (low input).
Low Coolant Level: The scan tool displays OK/Low. The state of the low coolant level
input detected by the IPC from the engine coolant level sensor (low input).
Low Washer Fluid: The scan tool displays OK/Low. The state of the low washer fluid
input detected by the IPC from the washer fluid switch (low input).
Odometer: The scan tool displays 0-999999.9 miles. The IPC
calculates the mileage to determine the odometer value.
PROM ID: The scan tool displays the four digit number of the PROM incorporated
into the IPC.
Revision Level: The scan tool displays the revision level of the software in the
IPC.
Right Turn Signal: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of right turn signal input
detected by the IPC from the turn hazard flasher (high input). The indicator
turns on when the switch is closed.
Seat Belt Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the seat belt lamp
as commanded by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the SDM.
Software Release Level: The scan tool displays the original release level of
the software in the IPC.
TCS Off Lamp: The scan tool displays On/Off. The state of the TCS off lamp as
commanded by the IPC. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM.
Trip Odometer Reset: The scan tool displays On/Released. The state of trip odometer
reset switch detected by the IPC from the internal trip odometer reset switch.
Vehicle Speed : The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-159 mph).
The IPC obtains vehicle speed data from the PCM on a dedicated input. The
PCM is responsible for calculating correct vehicle speed
data.
