Removal Procedure
- Remove the automatic level
control air compressor from the vehicle. Refer to
Air Compressor Replacement
.
- Remove the air dryer from the automatic level control air compressor.

- Remove the wiring terminals B and D from the automatic
level control air compressor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the exhaust hose from the automatic level control air
compressor head.
- Remove the bolts/screws from the automatic level control air compressor
head (2).
- Remove the automatic level control air compressor head.
- Remove the O-ring (3) from the automatic level control air compressor.
Installation Procedure
- Install the O-ring (3)
to the automatic level control air compressor.
- Install the air compressor
head.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the air
compressor head bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the air compressor head bolts in the order shown to 6 N·m
(53 lb in).
- Route the wires through the tie strap and the conduit.
- Install the wiring to terminals B and D on the automatic
level control air compressor electrical connector.
- Install the air dryer to the automatic level control air compressor.

- Connect the exhaust hose to the automatic level control compressor
head.
- Install the automatic level control air compressor to the vehicle.
