NOISEY WIRE WHEEL COVERS CREAKING/CLICKING NOISE

1986-87 6000 MODELS

Some 1986-87 6000 vehicles equipped with wire wheel covers may exhibit a creaking/clicking type noise while being driven.

Modified service covers are now available to eliminate this noise.

If this type noise is experienced and has been determined to come from the covers, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Insure that the cover is installed properly, especially that the retention bolt is securely fastened.

2. Switch cover to another wheel.

3. If this does not work replace the cover with a cover from GMSPO.
