1986 6000 STE models are equipped with an anti-lacerative windshield that is a standard feature of the vehicle. The plastic inner lining of this windshield is a major contributing factor to the main safety feature of this type of windshield, that of reduced contact injuries in the event a vehicle occupant makes contact with the windshield during an accident.

In the event that vehicles equipped with such a windshield need to have it replaced, the replacement windshield should be the same. This is a must for repairs done under warranty. On vehicle repairs that are at the customer's expense and the customer elects not to have the replacement of alike windshield, it should be so noted on the customer's invoice and a copy kept in the customer's file.
