D.I.C. MODULE REPLACEMENT RESET INFORMATION

When an STE Driver Information Center (DIC) module is replaced the service reminder must be reset to the nearest 500 mile or kilometer increment remaining in maintenance intervals.

Reset mileage may be obtained by calling up intervals stored in the previous module before it is removed. This can be done by alternately depressing and releasing the "Service Reminder" push button on the instrument panel until all four (4) items have cycled through and mileages recorded. Reset mileage can also be determined by examining owner service records.

If not reset, the DIC service reminders will appear on the display within a 10 kilometer distance following installation of the new DIC module.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
