If above described noise condition is noted in the engine area during acceleration or drivetrain torque reversals, inspect the front engine mount bracket bolts (refer to Figure 1) for presence and proper torques. If bolt(s) is (are) missing or low torque is noted, the following procedure should be followed:
1. Raise car.
2. Remove lower engine mount bracket bolt and discard (refer to Figure 1).
3. Remove A/C compressor splash shield.
4. Inspect engine mount bracket to engine block bolts (2) for presence and tightness (100 N - m or 74 lbs. ft.).
5. Apply adhesive (part number 12345493) to the thread of the new lower mount bracket bolt (part number 11509843). Install new bolt and new washer (part number 14038397) and tighten to 32 N-m (24 lbs. ft.). If 32 N-m (24 lbs. ft.) is not obtained, inspect for stripped threads in the engine mount bracket. If threads are stripped, replace the bracket. Refer to the Chassis Service Manual for engine mount bracket replacement procedure. If bracket is replaced, install new lower bracket bolt and washer as described above.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
