Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Removal

  1. Open the power sliding door.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  4. Use the J 38778 in order to unsnap the door mounted plunger push-in retainers from the sliding door.

  5. Object Number: 320138  Size: SH
  6. Remove the door mounted plungers from the sliding door.

  7. Object Number: 320121  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the door mounted plungers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 320121  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the door mounted plungers.

  2. Object Number: 320138  Size: SH
  3. Install the door mounted plungers to the sliding door.
  4. Install the push-in retainers in order to secure the door mounted plungers to the sliding door.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  6. Perform the reinitialization procedure. Refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Re-Initialization .
  7. Close the power sliding door.
