Removal Procedure
- Remove the right rear taillamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the sliding door center track cover rear screw.
- Open the sliding door.
- Remove the sliding door center track cover front screw.
- Grasp the sliding door center track. Slide the track forward approximately 25 mm (1 in), then gently pull outward on the track in order to release the center track cover from the center track.
Notice: The center track cover has tabs molded into the back edge which help secure the center track cover to the center track. Failure to slide the center track cover forwards approximately one inch prior to removal will result in broken tabs.
Installation Procedure
- Align the sliding door center track cover into the center track. The center track cover tabs should fit into the keyways on the center track.
- Slide the center track cover rearward approximately 25 mm (1 in) until the front and rear screw holes align.
- Install the sliding door center track cover front screw.
- Install the sliding door center track cover rear screw.
- Install the right rear taillamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Close the sliding door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the sliding door center track cover front screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the sliding door center track cover rear screw to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
