Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 168500  Size: MH
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the seat belt buckle and pretensioner.
  3. Remove the bolt from the passenger seat belt buckle and pretensioner.
  4. Remove the passenger seat belt buckle and the pretensioner.
  5. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Pretensioner Handling, Shipping, and Scrapping in SIR.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the passenger seat belt buckle and pretensioner.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt to the passenger seat belt buckle and pretensioner.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).

  5. Install the electrical connector to the seat belt buckle pretensioner.
  6. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
