Perform the following tests first, in order to eliminate any possible misdiagnosis:

Insufficient cooling may be caused by one of several components or system, such as the following components and systems:

    • The A/C compressor
    • The refrigeration system
    • The air delivery system
    • The PCM

Perform the On-Board Diagnostic Stystem Check. Refer to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check .

Are there any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)?

Repair the system that is related to the DTC.

Refer to Engine Controls.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Open the doors and the hood in order to neutralize the vehicle internal temperature with the shop temperature.
  2. Install the J 39500-B ACR4 Station onto the vehicle.
  3. Test the low-side system static pressure.

Is the low-side system static pressure below 310 kPa (45 psi)?

If the low side system static pressure is above 310 kPa (45 psi), perform the A/C System Performance Test. Refer to System Performance Test .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Perform a leak test on the system. Refer to Leak Testing .
  2. Perform any necessary repairs.
  3. Evacuate and charge the system.
  4. Perform the A/C System Performance Test. Refer to System Performance Test .

Is the repair complete?
