MOAN/GROWL/VIBRATION WITH A/C ON (INSTALL NEW ENG. BRACKET)

SUBJECT: MOAN/GROWL OR VIBRATION WITH A/C ON - INSTALL NEW ENGINE MOUNT BRACKET

MODEL/YEARS: 1992-93 SILHOUETTE W/3.8L (VIN L) ENGINE

CONDITION: Some Silhouette models with a 3800 (VIN L) engine may exhibit a moan, growl or vibration with the air conditioning on.

CAUSE: May be caused by system vibrations.

CORRECTION: This condition may be improved by using the following service parts and procedure:

PART NUMBER PART NAME (Parts are currently available from GMSPO) 10230581 Bracket - engine mount 11508931 Bolt 11502812 Nut

1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist. 2. Remove the R.H. wheel and tire assembly. 3. Install the engine mount bracket to the existing hole in the engine mount. Torque to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.). See illustration. 4. Attach the engine mount bracket to threaded boss in the transmission case. Torque to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.) 5. Replace wheel and tire assembly.

WARRANTY INFORMATION: Use Labor Operation No. Tl 895 for 0.4 hour and a Trouble Code of 92.
