The following procedure is the correct Removal and Installation of Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Pad for the 1990 Silhouette. This procedure replaces the existing procedure found on pages 8C-11 and Figure 8C-19 of the 1990 Silhouette Service Manual.
I/P PAD ASSEMBLY
A. REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Side window defroster vent grilles (2), to access retaining screws (2).
2. I/P trim pad retaining screws (4) two at top of I/P cluster, two through glove compartment (View A).
3. Lift I/P pad up and pull rearward to disengage retaining tabs at front of pad.
4. I/P pad assembly from vehicle.
B. INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Position I/P pad to lower I/P pad, push to engage retaining tabs.
2. I/P trim pad retaining screws (4) two at top of cluster, two through glove compartment (View A).
3. Retaining screws at side window defroster outlets and grilles.
