Front Fender Replacement Buick/Regency
Removal Procedure
- Remove the headlamp. Refer to
Headlamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the hood panel. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Remove the wheel opening molding, if equipped. Refer to
Front Fender Wheel Opening Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to
Rocker Panel Molding Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the bolts (2)
retaining the fender (1) at the rocker panel.
- From inside the wheel opening, remove the bolts and nuts (3)
retaining the rear of the fender (1).
- Remove the bolts retaining the fender (1) at the headlamp
opening.
- Remove the bolts (4) retaining the upper edge of the fender (1).
- Remove the fender (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the fender (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (4)
in order to retain the upper edge of the fender (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- Install the bolts in order to retain the fender (1) at
the headlamp opening.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- From inside the wheel opening, install the bolts and nuts (3)
in order to retain the rear of the fender (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- Install the bolts (2) in order to retain the fender (1)
at the rocker panel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to
Rocker Panel Molding Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement

- Install the wheel opening molding, if equipped. Refer to

- Remove the fender (1).

in order to retain the rear of the fender (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- Install the bolts (3) in order to retain the fender (1)
at the rocker panel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).
- Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to

- Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to

- Install the wheel opening molding, if equipped. Refer to
