Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the left inner rear fender.
- Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent valve attaching
screw (2) and lower the assembly.
- Disconnect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (1).
- Disconnect the vent hose (3) from the EVAP vent valve.
- Remove the EVAP vent valve from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the EVAP vent valve on to the bracket.
- Connect the vent hose (3) to the EVAP vent valve.
- Connect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Position the EVAP
canister vent valve assembly on the vehicle and start the attaching screw
(2).
Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister vent valve attaching screw to 6 N·m
(53 lb in).
- Install the left inner rear fender.
- Lower the vehicle.
