Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 182702  Size: SH
  1. Remove the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column opening filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  3. Remove the bolts retaining the knee bolster bracket to the IP trim pad.

  4. Object Number: 182689  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts retaining the knee bolster bracket to the steering column bracket.
  6. Remove the knee bolster bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 182689  Size: SH
  1. Install the knee bolster bracket into position.
  2. Install the knee bolster bracket to steering column bracket retaining bolts.

  3. Object Number: 182702  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the knee bolster bracket to IP trim pad retaining bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the knee bolster bracket retaining bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  6. Install the steering column opening filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  7. Install the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
