Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment
lid.
- Remove the nuts retaining the remote compact disc (CD) player
mounting bracket, then reposition the mounting bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical/audio
connector from the remote CD player.
- Remove the bolts retaining
the remote CD player to the mounting bracket.
- Remove the remote CD player from the mounting bracket.
Important: Reinstall the transportation pin when shipping or transporting the remote
CD player.
- If shipping or transporting the remote CD player, reinstall the transportation
pin by inserting the pin into the original position and fixing in place with
clear tape.
Installation Procedure
- Remove the transportation
pin from the remote compact disc (CD) player, if installed prior.
- Align and insert the remote CD player into the mounting bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the remote
CD player to mounting bracket retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the remote CD player to mounting bracket retaining bolts to
2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the electrical/audio
connector to the remote CD player.
- Position the remote CD
player mounting bracket onto the mounting studs in the rear compartment.
- Install the remote CD player mounting bracket retaining nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the remote CD player mounting bracket retaining nuts to 7 N·m
(62 lb in).
- Close the rear compartment lid.
