1. Inspect and clean the moving parts and the tape head.
2. Use cleaning cassette.

Does the cassette tape play OK?

Perform motor speed test with the diagnostic test tape from the J 39916-A . Refer to Speakers General Diagnosis for more information.

Is the motor speed OK?

1. Remove the obstruction.
2. Caution: Improper removal may damage tape player.
3. Inspect and clean moving parts and tape head.
4. Use the cleaning cassette. Refer to Cassette Player Care and Cleaning for service procedure.
5. Use diagnostic test tape from the J 39916-A . Refer to Speakers General Diagnosis for more information.

Does the test tape operate correctly?
