  1. Start engine to build adequate vacuum supply.
  2. Place the heater-A/C control in the VENT (UPPER) mode.
  3. Place the blower speed selector in the medium position.

Outside air flows from the I/P panel outlets.

Place the heater-A/C control in the RECIRC (MAX) position.

Turn the A/C on.

Inside air is recirculated through the I/P panel outlets.

Place the heater-A/C control in the VENT position.

Turn the A/C off.

Outside Air flows from the I/P panel outlets

Place the heater-A/C control in the BI-LEV position.

Air flows from the I/P panel and floor outlets, slight air flow from defrost outlets.

BI-Level Inoperative

Place the heater-A/C control in the LOWER (HEAT) mode.

Air flows from the floor outlets, slight air flow from defroster/defogger outlets.

Heated Air Inoperative

Place the heater-A/C control in the DEFROST mode .

    • Air flows from the defrost outlets, slight airflow from floor outlets and the defogger outlets.
    • A/C is on.

Defrost Air Inoperative

  1. Place the heater-A/C control in the VENT (UPPER) mode.
  2. Place the blower speed control in the lowest position.
  3. Place the temperature control in the hotest position.

Listen for the air temperature actuator operation and heated air flows from the I/P outlets.

Temperature Actuator Inoperative

Turn the temperature control to coldest position.

Listen for the air temperature actuator operation and cold air from I/P outlets.
