Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  3. Object Number: 369008  Size: SH
  4. Remove the compressor line nut (1) at the condenser.

  5. Object Number: 369018  Size: SH
  6. Position aside the compressor line at the condenser.

  7. Object Number: 369028  Size: SH
  8. Remove the compressor line nut (2) at the accumulator.

  9. Object Number: 369032  Size: SH
  10. Position aside the compressor line at the accumulator.

  11. Object Number: 369041  Size: SH
  12. Remove the nut from the compressor hose assembly at the compressor.
  13. Remove the compressor hose assembly.
  14. Remove and discard the O-ring seals and sealing washers.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the compressor hose assembly.
  2. Important: The new O-ring seals must be coated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

  3. Install new O-ring seals and sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 369044  Size: SH
  5. Install the compressor hose assembly to the rear of the compressor.

  6. Object Number: 369041  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the compressor hose assembly nut .
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the compressor hose assembly nut to 33 N·m(24 lb ft).

  9. Install the compressor line to the condenser.

  10. Object Number: 369008  Size: SH
  11. Install the compressor line nut (1).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the compressor line nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  13. Install the compressor line to the accumulator.

  14. Object Number: 369028  Size: SH
  15. Install the compressor line nut (2) the accumulator.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the compressor line nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  18. Inspect the A/C system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing .
  19. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
