The steering column is not aligned correctly.

Inspect the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle .

Adjust or replace the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

The steering column is worn or damaged.

Inspect the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle .

Replace the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

The intermediate steering shaft is worn or damaged.

Inspect the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .

Replace the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .

The upper steering shaft is worn or damaged.

  1. Inspect the upper steering shaft.
  2. Replace the upper steering shaft. Refer to Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
