Disassembly Procedure
- Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - Off Vehicle .
- Remove 1 wire harness strap (2) from the wire harness assembly.
- Pop the wire harness assembly (1) from the wire harness strap (2).
- Remove the 2 tapping screws (1).
- Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2).
Remove 1 wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).
Assembly Procedure
- Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2) and secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws (1).
- Route the wire harness assembly (1) along the steering column jacket assembly.
- Pop the wire harness assembly (1) into the wire harness strap (2).
- Install 1 wire harness strap (2) to the upper tilt head assembly (1).
- Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - Off Vehicle .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
Install 1 wire harness strap (2) onto the wire harness assembly.
