Action

There is air in the power steering system.

Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

The steering gear bearing preload is misadjusted.

Adjust the steering gear bearing preload to specification.

The steering gear is loose.

Tighten the steering gear bolts to specification. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

The tie rod end(s) are loose.

Repair or replace the tie rod ends as necessary. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .

The wheel bearing/hub is loose.

Repair or replace the wheel bearing. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement in Front Suspension.
