To address this condition, install a new wire cover which is now available. Sedans: P/N 10165667 Coupes: P/N 10165666
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
1. Loosen the mirror attaching screw and remove the mirror from the windshield.
2. Position the new cover over the mirror base and snap in place with wiring inside the cover channel
3. Carefully insert the upper end of the cover under the front edge of the headliner.
4. Reinstall the mirror to the windshield and tighten the attaching screw.
5. Position the cover vertically from the mirror support to the headliner.
