OLDSMOBILE MAINT. SCHEDULES ALL 1986 MODELS

MODELS/YEARS: ALL 1986 MODELS

All 1986 Oldsmobile vehicles have a maintenance booklet installed in the car at the time of production. Each booklet has two schedules of service intervals (Figures 1 and 2). The schedule the owner should follow depends on how the car is driven.

Schedule I is to be followed if the car is mainly operated under one or more of the following conditions:

. When most trips are less than 4 miles (6 kilometers).

. When most trips are less than 10 miles (16 kilometers) and outside temperatures remain below freezing.

. Idling for extended periods and/or low speed operation such as found in delivery, police, rental or taxi operation.

. Towing a trailer.

. Operating in dusty areas.

Schedule II is to be followed ONLY if none of the driving conditions specified in Schedule I apply.

If a maintenance booklet is lost, additional booklets are available through your Zone Office. The part number is as follows:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
