Oldsmobile electric clocks are warranted under the "New Car Limited Warranty" for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. When a malfunctioning clock is removed during the warranty period, it must be sent to the responsible manufacturer for repair.
Oldsmobile Division currently uses clocks from two manufacturers, Borg Instruments and General Time (other than in AC-Delco ETR radios). Obtaining warranty repair for clocks from these manufacturers is covered in this bulletin.
Manufacturer's identification is essential and is either stamped on the housing or printed on a label on the clock housing. If the manufacturer's stamped name cannot be read, darken the letters with a lead pencil. This will enable you to identify the manufacturer.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
