CHART C-4, MISFIRE DIAGNOSIS

1985-88 CUTLASS CALAIS, CUTLASS CIERA, DELTA 88, NINETY-EIGHT AND TORONADO MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 3.8L (VIN CODE 3 AND B) OR 3.OL (VIN CODE L) ENGINES

This bulletin supplements Dealer Technical Bulletin 87-T-54 dated October 28, 1987 with the following revisions:

1. Added model years 1985 through 1988

2. Added 1985 through 1988 Toronado models

3. Chart A-3 (Page 2 of 3) for (VIN 3 and B) engines - Step 9 (page 17 of 87-T-54) has been revised. Please replace the chart with the revised one on the back side of this bulletin.

The revision in Step 9 is required to make the chart work properly. if the crank sensor is indexed so that a window is in front of the hall switch, the crank signal will be pulled low and the injector test light will not flash.
