1985 CALAIS WITH 3.OL MPFI LN7 ENGINE

A new service kit to revise 3.OL MPFl engines built prior to December 1984 is now available. This additional bypass supplements that already provided through the heater.

The bypass kit part no. 25527549 contains the following: See Figure 1.

- adapter tee - 45 DEG. elbow - pipe assembly - adapter hose - two (2) clamps for adapter hose - two (2) clamps for lower radiator hose - adapter to lower radiator hose - thermostat - coolant outlet gasket

Several performance changes are provided by installing this kit including: reduced engine coolant temperature cycling, reduced temperature gage cycling or an intermittent hot light, and reduced possibility of trapped air in the engine. If a condition of temperature gage cycling or intermittent hot light is encountered, the new service kit may be installed as a correction.

An installation instruction sheet is provided in the bypass kit. This kit also requires the use of three (3) tablets of part number 3634621 * (6 tablets per package) cooling system supplement. A cooling system supplement not to exceed 3 tablets must be added before reinstalling the radiator cap to assure protection is maintained at original factory levels.
