SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT ONE OR MORE OF THEIR DOOR GLASSES ARE SCRATCHED.
THE SCRATCHES MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF:
1. INNER AND OUTER DOOR PANEL OPENING MAY BE TOO NARROW AND DIRT MAY GET TRAPPED BETWEEN THE OUTER BELT STRIP RETAINING CLIPS AND THE WINDOW.
2. DOOR GLASS SHAPE MAY BE OUT OF TOLERANCE.
1. CHECK THE DIMENSION BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER DOOR PANEL OPENING. THAT DIMENSION SHOULD BE 34 MM (1 3/8 IN). SEE FIGURE 1. WHEN NECESSARY, WIDEN THE OPENING TO 34 MM (1 3/8 IN).
2. REPLACE DOOR GLASS, FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE IN SECTION 8 - DOORS OF THE 1999 SERVICE MANUAL. THE NEW GLASS TOLERANCE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION.
