Makes 🢒 Oldsmobile 🢒 1999 🢒 Cutlass 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle
  1. Remove the steering column tilt head housing. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

    2. Object Number: 371200 Size: SH
  2. Remove the steering shaft seal (2) and sensor retainer (1) from the end of the steering shaft assembly.

    3. Object Number: 371210 Size: SH
  3. Remove and discard the lower spring retainer (4).
  4. Remove the lower bearing spring (3).
  5. Remove the lower bearing seat (2).
  6. Remove the adapter and bearing assembly (1) from steering column jacket assembly.

    7. Object Number: 371212 Size: SH
  7. Remove the steering shaft assembly from the steering column jacket assembly.

    8. Object Number: 371213 Size: SH
  8. Remove the 4 TORX® head screws and the steering column support assembly.

    9. Object Number: 295954 Size: SH

    Important: Mark the upper shaft assembly and the lower steering shaft assembly to ensure proper assembly. Failure to assemble properly will cause the steering wheel to be turned 180 degrees.

  9. Remove the race and upper shaft assembly from the lower steering shaft assembly.
  10. Tilt to 90 degrees to each other and disengage. Rotate sphere 90 degrees and lift.

    11. Object Number: 371219 Size: SH
  11. Remove the centering sphere from the race and upper shaft assembly. Rotate sphere 90 degrees and slip out.

    12. Object Number: 371220 Size: SH
  12. Remove the joint preload spring from the centering sphere.
