.
- Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System in order to access the Body
Control Module (BCM).
- If the headlamps ON chime does not sound with the headlamp switch
in the PARK position or the HEAD position, inspect for an open in CKT 9
between the right IP junction block and the BCM.
- If no open exists in CKT 9 between the right IP junction
block and the BCM, replace the BCM.
- If the check-gauges chime sounds continuously, inspect the following
indicators:
• | The oil pressure indicator |
• | The engine coolant temperature indicator |
• | The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator |
• | The CHECK OIL indicator |
• | The LOW WASHER indicator |
• | The low coolant indicator |

- Replace the BCM if no indicators are illuminated. Refer to the
following procedures:
- Inspect for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the

A broken wire inside of the insulation may cause a system failure, but
prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage test.
- Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment.
Improper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment may affect
the integrity of other systems.
