For 1990-2009 cars only

Replace the wheels if any of the following conditions exist:

    • The wheel is bent or dented.
    • The wheel has excessive lateral or radial runout.
    • The wheel leaks air through the welds.
    • The wheel has elongated bolt holes.
    • The wheel nuts will not stay tight.
    • The wheels are heavily rusted.

Wheels with excessive runout may cause objectionable vibrations.

Replacement wheels must be equivalent to the original equipment wheels in the following areas:

    • Load capacity
    • Diameter
    • Rim width
    • Offset
    • Mounting configuration

A wheel of improper size or type may affect the following areas:

    • Wheel and bearing life
    • Brake cooling
    • Speedometer/odometer calibration
    • Vehicle ground clearance
    • Tire clearance to the body and chassis

Steel wheels can be identified by a two or three-letter code stamped into the rim near the valve stem. Aluminum wheels have the code, part number, and manufacturer ID cast into their back side.
