Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Hoist the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 102438  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the vent solenoid electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 102441  Size: SH
  5. Loosen the vent solenoid hose clamp and slide the clamp down the hose away from the hose to EVAP vent solenoid connection.
  6. Remove the hose to the vent solenoid.

  7. Object Number: 102445  Size: SH
  8. Remove the vent solenoid attaching bolt.
  9. Remove the vent solenoid from the mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the vent solenoid onto the mounting bracket .

  2. Object Number: 102445  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the vent solenoid and mounting bracket attaching bolt.
  4. Tighten
    EVAP vent solenoid mounting bracket bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  5. Lubricate the hose ends with lubricant.
  6. Install the hose to the vent solenoid.
  7. Install the vent solenoid hose clamp.

  8. Object Number: 102438  Size: SH
  9. Connect the vent solenoid electrical connector.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
