Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment
lid trim. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement
.
- Remove the rear compartment lid latch assembly. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear compartment
lid latch assembly.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear compartment lid (1).
- Remove the bolts (2, 4) retaining the lid (1) to the hinges
(3).
- Remove the rear compartment lid (1) from the vehicle, with the
aid of an assistant.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear compartment
lid (1) to the vehicle, with the aid of an assistant.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
(2, 4) in order to retain the lid (1) to the hinges (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the wiring harness to the rear compartment lid (1).
- Connect the electrical connectors to the rear compartment lid
latch assembly.
- Install the rear compartment lid latch assembly. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement

- Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement
.
