Makes 🢒 Oldsmobile 🢒 2003 🢒 Aurora 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column 🢒 Intermediate Steering Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the steering column and intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
  2. Remove the vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the under hood fasteners in order to gain access to the steering shaft seal bolts.
  4. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal bolts.

    5. Object Number: 821989 Size: SH
  5. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 821989 Size: SH
  1. Install the intermediate shaft seal into the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Line up the intermediate shaft seal with the holes on the floor pan and install the intermediate shaft seal bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  3. Install the fuel bundle into the under hood fasteners.
  4. Install the vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  5. Install the steering column and intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
  6. Operate the steering in order to verify there is no binding between the intermediate steering shaft and intermediate steering shaft seal.
