Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the wheels and the tires. Refer to Wheel Removal in Wheels and Tires.
  3. Remove the exhaust system.
  4. Use a jack stand in order to support the forward end of the rear suspension support assembly.
  5. Remove the brackets from the body at the support assembly forward mounts.
  6. Remove the two bolts that secure the front of the support assembly to the body of the vehicle.
  7. Lower the front end of the support assembly in order to enable mount removal.

  9. Use a punch in order to perform the following actions:
  10. 8.1. Bend the tabs on the inboard mount (2)
    8.2. Tap the mount (1) downward and out of the support assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105038  Size: SH
  1. Tap the mount into the support assembly, ensuring the following conditions upon installation:
  2. • The flat is outboard (2).
    • The notch is rearward (1)

  3. Use a large pair of channel lock pliers in order to bend the tabs (2) outboard.
  4. Raise the support assembly to the body of the vehicle.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the two bolts that secure the front of the support assembly to the vehicle body.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 191 N·m (141 lb ft).

  8. Install the brackets to the body at the support assembly forward mounts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 86 N·m (63 lb ft).

  10. Install the exhaust system.
  11. Install the wheels and the tires. Refer to Wheel Installation .
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 N·m (100  lb ft).

  13. Lower the vehicle.
