SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON A SEPARATION OF THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE FROM THE UPPER TRIM PAD.
THIS CONDITION IS CAUSED BY A BUILD OR PART VARIATION DURING PRODUCTION.
USE THE FOLLOWING SERVICE PROCEDURE TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION:
1. REMOVE THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE BY FOLLOWING THE REMOVAL PROCEDURE IN SECTION 8C OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
2. LOOSEN THE UPPER TRIM PAD ATTACHING SCREWS AT CENTER AND LEFT OF UPPER TRIM PAD.
3. PUSH DOWN ON CENTER OF UPPER TRIM PAD WHILE RE-TIGHTENING ATTACHING SCREWS.
- CLOSE THE DRIVER DOOR TO MAKE SURE THE DOOR DOES NOT CONTACT THE UPPER TRIM PAD.
4. TAKE AN "O" RING WITH A 2MM THICKNESS AND CUT THROUGH ONE SIDE. SEE ATTACHED ILLUSTRATION.
5. THERE ARE TWO SLOTS IN THE UPPER TRIM PAD THAT ACCEPT THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE. PLACE THE CUT "O" RINGS OVER THE LOWER END OF EACH SLOT.
7. INSTALL THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE BY FOLLOWING THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURES IN SECTION 8C OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.

LABOR OPERATION NUMBER: C2328 USE PUBLISHED LABOR OPERATION TIME. ADD .1 HR. FOR REFITTING I/P UPPER TRIM PAD.
