Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the speaker connector.
3. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter in order to measure the resistance of the speaker.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Disconnect the radio connector.
2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter from speaker connector cavity A to ground.
3. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

10 ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement or Radio Rear Speaker Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter from the speaker connector cavity B to ground.
2. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

10 ohms

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair a short to ground or high resistance in the speaker feed circuit.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Reconnect the speaker connector.
2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter in order to measure the resistance at the radio connector of the speaker feed circuits.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Repair a short to ground or high resistance in the speaker feed circuit.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Inspect for poor connections at the radio and the speaker.
2. If the connections are OK, remove the radio for repair.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Inspect for poor connections at the speaker or the in-line connectors.
2. If the connections are OK, repair the open or the high resistance in speaker feed circuits.

Is the repair complete?
