Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  3. Remove the case side cover. Refer to Case Side Cover Replacement (W/ Gasket) .

  5. Remove the 1-2 shift solenoid retainer.

  6. Object Number: 97497  Size: SH
  7. Remove the 1-2 shift solenoid.

  8. Object Number: 97500  Size: SH
  9. Remove the PWM solenoid retainer.

  10. Object Number: 97502  Size: SH
  11. Remove the PWM solenoid.

  13. Remove the TCC solenoid retainer.

  15. Remove the TCC solenoid.

  17. Remove the 3-4 shift solenoid retainer.

  19. Remove the 3-4 shift solenoid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97518  Size: SH
  1. Install the 3-4 shift solenoid.

  2. Object Number: 97637  Size: SH
  3. Install the 3-4 shift solenoid retainer.

  4. Object Number: 97506  Size: SH
  5. Install the TCC solenoid.

  6. Object Number: 97504  Size: SH
  7. Install the TCC solenoid retainer.

  8. Object Number: 97502  Size: SH
  9. Install the PWM solenoid.

  10. Object Number: 97500  Size: SH
  11. Install the PWM solenoid retainer.

  12. Object Number: 97497  Size: SH
  13. Install the 1-2 shift solenoid.

  14. Object Number: 97493  Size: SH
  15. Install the 1-2 shift solenoid retainer.
  16. Install the case side cover, new gaskets and attaching bolts. Refer to Case Side Cover Replacement (W/ Gasket) .
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18. Lower the vehicle.
  19. Adjust the fluid level.
