Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Position a suitable container to catch the engine oil.
  3. Remove the engine oil filter (except 4WD vehicle).
  4. Disconnect the engine oil cooler pipes (RWD vehicle) from the oil filter adapter. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  5. Disconnect the remote oil filter inlet and outlet hoses (4WD vehicle) from the oil filter pipe adapter. Refer to Remote Oil Filter Adapter Pipe Replacement .
  6. Remove the oil filter adapter RWD vehicle or the remote oil filter pipe adapter 4WD vehicle. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Removal .

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the oil filter adapter RWD vehicle or the remote oil filter pipe adapter 4WD vehicle. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Removal .
  2. Connect the engine oil cooler pipes (RWD vehicle) to the oil filter adapter. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Connect the remote oil filter inlet and outlet hoses (4WD vehicle) to the oil filter pipe adapter. Refer to Remote Oil Filter Adapter Pipe Replacement .
  4. Install the engine oil filter (except 4WD vehicles). Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Operate the engine and check for leaks.
  7. Inspect the engine oil level and fill to the proper level,
