Verify that the heated mirrors are inoperative.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Remove the rear defogger relay.
  3. Using the J 35616 , connect a test lamp between terminal 85 and terminal 86.
  4. Activate the heated mirror switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test CKT 193 (WHT) for an open. Repair as necessary. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you locate and repair an open?

Replace the heater and A/C controller.

Inspect the HTD MIRROR fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Is the fuse good?

Test CKT 2267 (ORN) for a short to ground. Repair as necessary. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you locate and repair a short to ground?

  1. Connect a test lamp between terminal A and terminal H of the LH outside rear view mirror.
  2. Activate the heated mirror switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the RH outside rear view mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Connect a J 36169-A between terminal 30 and terminal 87 of the rear defogger relay.
