Did you perform the Power Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that one of the power mirrors is inoperative.

Do the power mirrors operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the inoperative power outside mirror connector.
  2. Position the selector switch to the inoperative power mirror.
  3. Connect a test lamp between CKT 1496 (YEL) cavity C and ground.
  4. Move the switch to the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the inoperative power outside mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

    • For the outside rear view mirror, LH, inspect for an open in the following circuits:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 89 (LT GRN)
       - CKT 81 (WHT)
    • For the outside rear view mirror, RH, inspect for an open in the following circuits:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 889 (PPL/WHT)
       - CKT 881 (RED/WHT)

Is an open present?

Go to Step 6

    • For the outside rearview mirror, LH, repair the open in the appropriate circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs and Wiring Systems.
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 89 (LT GRN)
       - CKT 81 (WHT)
    • For the outside rearview mirror, RH, repair the open in the appropriate circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs and Wiring Systems.
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 889 (PPL/WHT)
       - CKT 881 (RED/WHT)

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the power mirror switch.
